Step 1: Make sure you initially setup your new DFS so that your pet gets the same total daily feeding amount that he/she always gets, whether you are feeding only one time a day or several times a day. Click here to get instructions on setting up feeding volumes and time(s). Keep this initial setup for at least a few days to two weeks until your pet gets accustomed to the DFS dispensing the food.

#2: Once your pet gets accustomed to the DFS dispensing the feed, reset the dispense time of the last feeding of the day to one second shorter than the initial dispense time. 

#3: On the next day reset the dispense time of the next to last feeding of the day to one second shorter than the initial time. Now continue to do this each day, rotating through the dispense times until you have settings that are equal to the amount of feed that is the ideal weight you and his/her veterinarian have estab
